Is it too early to talk about playoffs? No

Let's call it now - the Cowboys, Packers, and Bucs are going to win their respective divisions. I'm not trying to jinx, but if we end up with the 5th seed, which team would you rather play in the 1st round including the Cardinals?

This is a tough one but I'm leaning towards the Packers for a revenge game. The other teams are at least 2/3 WRs deep so Ramsey can't be isolated on their main threats. I think Ramsey wants revenge against Adams and Stafford would be motivated to finally get past Rodgers. And I think the regular season game gives us a chance to get familiar with them.

Cowboys or Bucs, this team would be more at home with warmer weather. But let's not give up hope on the Rams. All we need are a couple of Cardinal mental lapses or injuries (did they steal Russ' magic water) to overtake them in the standings.

Cards will not go undefeated. We just need to beat them at their house and things will look a little better.

Still mad about that game. Feels like every year we lose the one game that has the most implications in h2h seeding at the end.

I want a high seed this year. The Rams under McVay have tended to disappoint enough to miss the catbird seat. They changed the QB for reasons like this and now it is time to show they can come out of the season on top.

If they can't do that then I think it is unlikely they get through that playoff field as a visiting team. Really want to see this team get all three phases rolling and show it consistently throughout the remainder of the sched.

:hijack::stop: Don't take the easy route and say "we should win the division" or "it's too early"

Based on the current play of those four teams, which would you rather play 1st round on the road?

Getting the 5 seed would suck. Cowboys, Bucs, and Pack (and Cards) are all dangerous this year.

Difference between the 5 and the 1 seed: Playing 3 road games vs playing 2 home games. That's huge.

The 5 seed would mean probably playing 3 of those 4 teams on the road... an extremely tough road to the SB.

Yeah the Cards stepping up and joining the playoff field just makes things tougher. I think the NFC field will be stronger than last year. Bucs are still loaded. Packers have a lesser OL but can still hang points on anyone. Cowboys are a legit contender with a scary offense. And the Cards not only are explosive but that defense is playing exceptional ball right now, their 18.2 ppg allowance is no mistake.

You also have a team like the Saints who possess a fine defense, will their QB settle in and if so they're competitive with anyone. And the Rams are going to be a more potent playoff team too. So the playoff field looks exceptionally tough. Having a top seed doesn't guarantee anything but missing that first round would be fantastic.

We know they can beat the Bucs. Cowboys can be had...Dak is in a boot every week...he won't make it through the season.

Don't want to play in Lambeau in January.

J.J. Watt will be in a cast before the season is over and red midget will be in the hospital.

I want to play the Cardinals every week!

It will all come down to Stafford.

Will he be the erratic QB like we saw against the Cardinals in his biggest game.

He has not found a way to win 1 playoff game in 13 years.

Goff outplayed Dak Prescott and Drew Brees and if not for Brandin Cooks dropping two TD’s in his hands outplays Tom Brady to win a Super Bowl.

I really like Stafford, he is an amazing person with a rocket of an arm and brings lots of experience to the game, but playing big boy football under pressure on the road is something he will have to show he can do. The erratic throws cannot happen in the playoffs where it’s one and done.

Lots of fans and Mcvay himself are starting to understand Stafford warts and all. Lots are living in denial and making excuses for him. He goes through several erratic throws at a time and often throws uncatchabke balls. If this shows up in the playoffs we are done.

I am rooting for Stafford and believe he could play his best ball in the playoffs. If we see the good Stafford for a stretch of 3-4 games in the postseason then we can win it all.

The playoff teams are dam near set barring major injuries. We will have to beat the Packers, Cardinals and Tampa. That is what it comes down to. Both Stafford plays again this year so we will get a good idea of how he can matchup vs top QB’s.

I find it ironic you criticize Stafford for “erratic throws” and fault this but make every excuse in the world for Goff when he makes “ erratic throws” the last several years.

“ it wasn’t his fault it was the O-Line not blocking”

“it wasn’t Goff it was the RB not picking up the block”

“ it wasn’t Goff’s fault it was the WR”

I guess people don’t have to wake up from the world they have created for themselves but it’ll sure be nice not having to read these “ big rig or trailer “ posts…
