Omar the savior Speights hasnt looked so great as of late.

what's wrong with Steve Avila?
Avila needs to hit the weight room this offseason. He’s too big to be falling on his ass. Dickerson on the Eagles is what Avila needs to be.

Also, Speights was undrafted for a reason. Maybe he’s better than Reeder but we have to stop thinking we find diamonds in the rough each year.

Matches what I saw with Alaric Jackson. Burned a few times, but overall held up pretty well. Elite pass rushers will win sometimes. Imagine holding Verse silent for an entire game? Very tall task. I like Jackson at LT. I'd be comfortable sticking with him. He is young and still improving. I'd rather use our 1st rounder on a corner and then hit offensive line after. I don't have faith in the Rams ability to draft CBs later in the draft. We've been doing it with frequency and coming up empty.

Agreed. He's not our problem for sure

No doubt. Avila being a year two player should be in form at this point in the season. The injury is the injury, but he hasn't looked good yet stretching back to camp. He looks like some fat dude from the crowd plugged in at LG on some of those snaps. Terrible.

Speights is a rook. You're gonna have down games, and as an ILB when your DL gets trucked it's gonna be fuckin ugly for you. ILBs are dependent on the big boys to some extent. By the way he had a fine stop in the redzone. Plenty of ILB wouldn't have stood that RB up there. So I still feel the same way about him. Maybe he can grow into something for us.

Hard to tell how injury might be impacting Avila and if it is lingering as he plays through but struggling.

If he does not improve soon, he needs to sit for Jonah Jackson, who is a LG and ought to be given a chance at his natural position before casting him off. Maybe Avila has to be the backup LG. Economically it would make more sense as he is on a rookie contract. Better player plays. Problem is, it would hurt continuity, yet again, but if Avila keep struggling this badly, I don't think you have no choice.

Avila. Say it isn’t so. Can we just get a dominant OL for Staff.

McClendon was ok at times, but his technique was shot on a few plays and he was reaching and fell forward. He needs to clean that up quick or he's out the NFL in a hurry .
