I can see it as a possibility but not likely. You never know with the draft though, Bridgewater was mocked #1 for a long time and almost didnt get picked in the first round.

If this happens, i think I'll actually cry with happiness

If that happens, Mariota must have been caught smoking weed or beating someone up sometime before the draft. Even then, I'm not sure the Jets pass on him.

Fate...yes. Yes. All of my yes.

I'd be beyond shocked. It'd be awesome but it's highly doubtful. I'd rather get another OL and get Brett Hundley in the 2nd. It's a much more likely scenario. Either way, both situations are exciting.

Didn't he have a terrible pro day though? Seems to me that QBs don't usually slide unless there's a reason. I think it's more likely that Hundley and Petty rise than it is for Mariota to drop.

I think the Jets could fuck up both of the Rams' best hope scenarios. If either of the 2 QB's or 2 WR's get to them at #6...the Jets will either take our guy or trade down...giving them to someone else.

I've seen the Bridgewater slide brought up as an example of a good player slipping. IMO, Bridgewater is the EXACT example of WHY Mariota WILL NOT slide. Wont let that mistake happen 2 years in a row. I say NO chance, and I mean NONE that he gets past the Jets, heck I think he'll go top 5

I'd have to agree no chance of us getting Marriota without a trade up. 7-9 would be prime candidates for the eagles to move up and steal him from his either way but would be shocked if the Jets with them trying and trading for QB's all these years would pass up Marriota.

I think if this were to happen, some other team would trade up to #9 just to be sure they got him.

People were positive a few weeks ago that Mariota would go #1 and Winston #2. This week, Winston is #1 and Mariota is somewhere in the top 5. The draft is over 2 months away, btw.

Also, couldn't the Rams to trade up to the 4-6 range? It would take about a 2nd round pick going by the trade value chart, but I've heard crazier ideas.

I can't see it happening. But I'd be happy if it did. Just wish, in hindsight, we could have moved up last year for Bridgewater around Pick #29 to #31.
