Go Cards! I'm loving what they're doing. Hopefully we can re-sign Goldschmidt, but re-signing Mikolas was a hell of a move, and bringing in Matt Wieters on a minor league deal with the potential of becoming Yadi's backup was smart.

I'm so hyped for this season!

****Spoiler Alert****

The New York Yankees win the 2019 World Series

I just realized Bryce Harper's new contract runs through 2032. That sounds more like a date in a science fiction novel than a future baseball season.

Dodgers will be going for a threepeat loss in the World Series. Will they finally break through? Or do they become MLB's version of the Buffalo Bills?

Nolan Gorman (one of the top third base prospects in the game) just hit a solo homer in the Grapefruit League off of Kyle Barraclough (ironically enough, one of our former prospects). The kid's only eighteen. He's a 2000 year birthday.

I can't wait to see him when he joins the Cards as a rookie and beyond.

:cautious: Thanks a lot Snackdaddy. It just occurred to me that between the Dodgers and Rams we are dangerously close to being the Bills already.

Goldschmidt re-signed with us! Happy days! :D

Naw..they'll be the 1960's version of the Dodgers with Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax!

Dodger fans are gonna need to hire Jansen's heart surgeon with how much of a roller coaster that bullpen is

My guess is that the first half of the season will be pretty hairy in the 7th and 8th, but they'll add an arm or two at the trade deadline. It's not a bad way to play the market for middle relievers.

Dodger relievers were solid outside of Kelly yesterday. He took the loss. His control was pretty bad. I figure if he can find that strike he'll be pretty good. They're still off to a good start even with early bullpen issues. Hopefully it gets straightened out when the offense comes back down to earth.

Looks like the Cards swept the Dodgers. I hope we play other teams as well.

Go, Cards!

Chris Davis ended his 0-54 streak in a big way today

he is about to go on a tear and raise his batting avg to .200 LOL

Bummer. M-4 Metabolite? Whatever that is. Any of you guys know?

Anyway, Logan is my childhood friend/ex-teammates' son. Pretty bummed. He was on the 40-man roster, slated to get called up to the bigs later in the year. His dad told me he is determined not to let this stop him.

Hate the Giants, but I'm rooting for the kid. From our local high school as well.

LOL. That made me chuckle out loud, Which made my wife look at me like I have problems.

As usual most Dodger fans were passing and moaning that we didn’t spend big money on free agents. And they have the second best record right now.

There were players the team wanted - but they have so much of what in the NFL would be classified as dead cap money. They are paying $39 million to players they've traded or cut. They have over $5 million going to minor leaguers on major league contracts - basically, a couple Cubans they signed who never made it. They have $8 million in deferred payments going to Kazmir, which does count against the luxury tax.

Fortunately, a lot of that expires after this season - a lot of it was to trade 3 big contracts this offseason, they took back Homer Bailey who was toast and would only agree to waive his no-trade if he were cut (while still having his guaranteed money).

They'll have more flexibility without going over the luxury tax figure this next offseason, and for the right player might even go over the tax figure.
