Remember at Texas A&M when Manziel would scramble around and heave it up late to Mike Evans? Well that doesn't work in the NFL. The kid has good talent, but he has to change the way he plays to succeed in the NFL.

I've called him "Johnny Fathead". Right now it's 3rd qtr, and he's 6-13 for 60 yards and 2 ints. Looks like after today's game, his head will shrink down a few sizes.

I thought Cleveland's coach made a rash decision benching Hoyer after last week. He caved to the talking heads...and they will lose BIG! It's 23-0 going to the 4th...and Manziel is totally inept!

Well, yeah. If he is trying to heave it up late to Mike Evans, no wonder he's sucking so badly. Evans plays for Tampa Bay.

;)

He cold easily have 4 INT's too. He better start paying attention to the coaches and the tape sessions.

I still wanna know who in the Rams war room wanted to draft him over Donald and Martin.
th

It's only his first game, but showing he has tons to learn, and I don't know if HE thinks he has to, or has the ethic to do so.

Let's be fair. This is only his first start, so it's not conclusive...but dude had a dose of HUMBLE PIE today!

Stop with the money signs, the fast lane life, and get to the business of learning to be an NFL backup QB!

I wasn't aware that anybody knows for sure that somebody was on his nuts...Lots of speculation, maybe I missed it...

I've said this since he was at A&M. He's going to bust harder than a virgin at a porn shoot.

I'm not calling him a bust yet. But like I said before the draft, I have serious concerns about his ability to transition to the NFL. The things he doesn't do well are the most important parts to NFL QBing.

I would be very much interested in a what Browns fans are saying thread after this debacle.

You saw him float late passes over the middle in college, and get away with it. You saw the head drop and feet shuffle when that first read was open. Yes he has some physical abilities, but he has to change the way he plays.

What I didn't like to hear is that his work ethic hasn't been there in previous weeks. If you want to be great you have to put in a tireless amount of work.

Basically, we learn once again that it's easy to say that the QB on the bench could (or even has to) be better, but when game time comes, there's a reason that guy wasn't starting (or on the regular roster).

He will get better with experience, but that noodle arm won't change. He should look to cash in on all the endorsements now.

That is why I prefer the guy who had to work to get to wear he is at instead of the silver spooner hat was able to just get by on ability alone.

It was for the Mike Silver article when he spent the draft in the Rams war room. I guess they did want him over Donald, but they wanted him with a potential third 1st rounder from trading back into the first (like they were going to do with Martin):

Over the next half hour, several staffers pitched the idea of trading up for Manziel. Taking him with a third first-round selection, they reasoned, would be less threatening to Bradford, who'd remain the incumbent quarterback for at least 2014. Also, as one person put it to Fisher: "This isn't the Johnny Manziel of two hours ago. It's a guy who's mad at the world because he keeps getting passed over, and wants to take it out on everyone."

Fans always assume that the real staffer are much smarter than the armchair QBs. I'm not so sure about that. I think multiple people on this forum can probably do better that these turds who pitched Manziel, especially if they made a full time job out of it.

I love that he's struggling, but for a different reason than all of you. I still think he's gonna be fine in the NFL, the dude got served in his first start big whoop.

But hopefully Cleveland will panic and trade him to the Rams for a 2nd or 3rd round pick this offseason.
