Just wondering if I'm way off, but that TD dime to Kupp almost looked like he was aiming for OBJ who was wide open too.

I looked at the replay a few times, but couldn't get a good angle. OBJ broke a post at the same time right behind Kupp. Staffords head was looking more at Kupp than OBJ.....so, does anyone think it may have been to OBJ and Kupp cut right in front of it or am I just crazy :)

That’s what i thought when i saw it live and the first few replays during the game highlighting the play. Staffords comments about trusting kupp post game make me question this hypothesis though

They called out three options in the huddle and Kupp said about that TD play that "Matt's a really good football player". I think if the pass was intended for OBJ Matt would have led him more, OBJ would of had to slow or stop to make the catch. One of the best throws of the season for the Rams. Stafford can anticipate where his receiver is going to be and he puts the ball right on target.

If you guys get to see a re-play of the game, there was an excellent view from behind the QB, showing the pre-snap cover-two, patterns and coverage as they developed and how Stafford released the ball before anyone was open, and threw to an empty spot on the field with the knowledge/confidence that Kupp would be there.

It really was beautiful execution. I mean like Boobies and Booty threads beautiful.

I may be biased, but that was one of the best throws I've ever seen. Ever. Not just Rams. Not just this season.

Given the pressure and the anticipation, that could have been a pick and everyone would be calling for his head. But that's what you get with Stafford. A little bit of gunslinger. When it works, it's freaking magic.

Agreed and this is where the gunslinger mentality comes in handy.

I don’t mind it in that scenario. When you are in enemy territory. When backed up on your own goal is where top ball security needs to take precedence.

But regarding the throw, the anticipation and location was top notch.

I was also there live and thought the same until Kupp caught the ball. I thought Stafford totally missed on the pass then Kupp comes out from from focus and BOOM! TD!!!

Surprised the hell out of me. OBJ was wide open as well.

His head looked like he was reading Kupp and the DL forced him to throw it so he basically got it out early. That play looks like it was intended to give him options to either corner of the endzone but he adjusted and hit Kupp a little early.

I honestly think that's his best throw so far in horns. Congested area deep with pressure in his face is risky as fuck. That was a serious gambler type throw even with his arm.

I did see Beckham come behind Kupp in the end zone but I thought he might have broke toward the ball when it was thrown. I really don’t think you design it that way with two WRs so close together.

In real time I absolutely thought it was an underthrow for OBJ, then Kupp kinda just appeared and plucked it out of the air. I was a bit surprised, as I didn’t really see him at first

Somebody was probably in the wrong spot, probably not Kupp.

That was a throw that would make Marino and Warner smile and Stafford's season stats are on a par with those two's best.

I'll guess he winds up close to 5000 passing yards, 40 td's and 14 ints.

No one likes a powerhouse rushing attack more than me but if we can keep OJB next year and Woods comes back at his near all pro self then I say we go with 4 wr sets, no TE, and fire away.

Good luck covering CK, Woods, OJB, and VJ.

Run enough to keep opponent honest and pummel them with a "jumbo time" rushing attack after acquiring a big lead.
