I think this guy would be awesome as one of the MLB's in the Rams Defense! Don't think he will still be around at #23 but I would trade up (Within Reason) to get this player!

Now how about a good trade down instead jrry32? Sure appears to be worth the gamble @ this time to me....just need to find a partner who desires whats on the board @ #23 & just maybe we can increase our activity on day two Or very early day 3.

Rams have four inside LB'ers on the roster currently:

Mark Barron 29/7 has 14 starts inside & 92 NFL gms of experience
Ramik Wilson 25/4 has 17 starts inside & 29 NFL gms of experience
Bryce Hager 25/3 has 1 start inside & 48 gms of NFL experience
Cory Littleton 24/3 has 4 starts inside & 32 NFL gms of experience

So it's not like we do not have ISLB'er who do not have any experience signed. Can Wade make do here with what we have with a few rookies drafted? With a boat load of highly talented DB's & DL'ers how many of these Interior LB'ers are going to be on the field in passing downs?

I am thinking an elite Edge Rusher will have a higher priority at this time.

Payne would be another great choice or Tim Settle! There are other DT's and then we have a lot of ILB's/OLB's to choice from too!!

Ya, I think the Rams have set themselves up nicely to go BPA at LB (either ILB or OLB) in a draft year that's really deep at this position, and focus on Z-WR/LB/OT. One of either LVE or Evans or Landry could still be there at #23. Trade down options are all over the place, with great value still there in the 2nd in Carter, Holland, Leonard, Cichy, etc. Gettin' pumped guys, gettin' pumped....

Currently my gut feeling is the Rams are NOT interested in a inside Lb'er with our top selection after the securing of Suh @ NT. If the Rams do get a trade down event I could see UGA Carter being a possibility in round two if we had a selection.

That #87 pick may not go for an ER either when you study who stands to be there. I would hope for our future NT to be landed with this selection like a PJ Hall or Derrick Nnadi so the Rams defense will have a replacement for Suh.

Then those two 4th's would sure be aimed towards ER's/OLB'ers like Jeff Holland, Ogbonnia Okoronkwo or Dorance Armstrong. I would expect to see the inside lB'ers to be considered in the 6th round. I like Micah Kiser with that #176 pick.

I can't imagine the Rams taking LVE at 23 unless they felt he could provide significant pass rush as a blitzer or occasional OLB. It just doesn't seem like he offers what this defense values nor does he significantly fit our needs (EDGE RUSHER!).

I'm gonna get stoned for this but if somehow LVE dropped to us, I expect another team would covet him and I think you'd see the Rams trade out of 23. How's that for a controversy!

I think it would give a young ILB a boost to play behind Donald, Suh, and Brockers....help him tremendously.
