All I have to say is... Bring it Rookie!

Interview by Brooke Cersosimo • May 17, 2017

After a lengthy hiatus from the game, Joe Williams came back on a tear, setting a Utah school rushing record against UCLA. He finished last season with 1,407 rushing yards (ranked 18th in the nation) and 10 touchdowns in nine contests. But even with a great 2016 performance, teams questioned Williams' character during the draft process. The running back explains how he won over John Lynch and the San Francisco 49ers and his initial impressions of coach Kyle Shanahan.

"[I most want to play the] Los Angeles [Rams], especially because of what happened in the draft and taking me off their boards."

Whatever, you punk. Just hope you make it to the 53 man roster...

Hey Joe, be careful what you wish for!

Did they announce that they were pulling him? I was watching the draft, may have missed it being mentioned. Guess we'll see if that was the right move in the future. In the meatime, would love to see this guy get stuffed at the line on a reg basis.

Dang, first Jeff Fisher wants to play us and now whoever this clown is wants a piece of us too?

Scary stuff. :D

Well Joe, you shouldn't have walked out on your team. It's all about the choice you made, no one else.

My thoughts exactly. Instead of being angry with the Rams for not considering him, he should be angry with himself for his failings. It is not the Rams fault Joe. It is your fault. Take responsibility for your moronic actions.

Im honestly surprised he made if to the NFL, he didnt seem anything special in high school. but its cool to see him make it. as for the hate on the "retirement", seems messed up to have an issue with someone trying to deal with grief, especially when its from his sister dying in his arms. Wish him the best, just not vs the Rams

im glad the rams took that thief off their board. 9ers have a bunch of low character guys on their roster. gonna backfire.

Why is he mad at the Rams? At least in SF he has a chance to start until he quits again.

I will say....when I saw this guy play, I was very impressed. I saw a couple of 200+ games...I was watching Garrett Bolles. think one of those games he went for 300.

He has an interesting story....He quit the team because of some mental health stuff...think he was depressed....explained it to his coach...then was asked to rejoin the team. Hasn't been an issue since.

I think of him as a poor man's joe mixon....plenty of speed. I figured we'd grab a small, scat-back type...like him or TJ Logan from UNC....Then we signed dunbar b4 the draft...

Guys use any type of ammo to get motivated. That's fine. I see it a lot with guys that wanted to be drafted by the Lakers...they come in and go for 30. So...I'm a lil concerned that this future 9er wants to rip us a new one.
