I keep seeing Odell’s quotes claiming that if he hadn’t been injured in the Super Bowl, then he would have had 200 yards receiving and been MVP in a dominant win over the Bengals.

1. The Bengals surely would have changed their coverages after the first quarter to put more pressure on Odell.

2. It’s all speculative BS

3. Does anyone on the planet, aside from Odell, believe that if Kupp had gone down with a knee injury in the first quarter, that Odell could have carried the team to victory as the only legitimate receiving threat?

4. He needs to just STFU and give Kupp the credit that he deserves.

Rant off:

He didn’t not give kupp credit he just said that he would have had 200 yds and we would have dominated… he was on track for those numbers or close and if they started rolling coverage it would have opened it up for kupp… obj would have had at least 140-160

I disagree guys. I’ve heard he and his fans say many times that Odell would have been MVP of that game if he didn’t get injured. This is based on two catches in the first quarter. It’s a big stretch and bold of him to say it out loud.

He could just keep his thoughts to himself instead, or just comment on what a great thing Kupp accomplished without his support.

McVay loves Beckham, a lot. I forget the recent interview, but his description was glowing and very appreciative for his locker room “emotional intelligence.”
It may be true but he praised players in the past, like Allen and Noteboom. I take anything a coach says with a grain of salt.

I don't know why you care what OBJ says.

The Bengals would have had to pick their poison Kupp or OBJ.

Don't watch this clip.

OBJ briefly talks about the game plan explaining that the Bengals were going to double-cover Kupp. He would line up on the other side of the field of Kupp and be single-covered. The game plan was to get him the ball. Changing coverage would have opened Kupp or someone else up. Either way, he would have made a big difference had he not been hurt

Without his clutch catches against the Ravens, we don’t even sniff the playoffs, let alone the Super Bowl.

I despised his antics originally, but he did help us win, so I can’t be harsh to him or Von (and for that matter, Suh; he was a force against the run and helped AD get close to the sack record.)

I understand his thinking but think it’s unrealistic to think the Bengals would continue to give him single coverage and allow him to tear them up.

It’s just why keep talking about it? He really doesn’t even know what would have happened.

It's who he is. Just like you are who you are not liking his comments.

Quote from Ramsey.

"In the Super Bowl, O was really the igniter. ... If O could've kept going that game, O probably would've been Super Bowl MVP. And that ain't taking nothing away from Cooper [Kupp], but O was really living like that. He was on another level. And then knowing he was going to be a free agent, too, all of that. It's like dang, man. I hated it for him, but everything happens for a reason. And because of that, hopefully we can get him back."

He did say if the Bengals changed the coverage, then that would have opened up Kupp

He is saying IF (and that is a big IF) they didn't change the coverage, then he would have continued to dominate that game.

He was having a really good game up to that point.

They doubled Kupp all game, it just made it a LOT easier for the defense after OBJ got hurt. And no one else really stepped up after that, besides Kupp.

I think he’s right about his potential production and the game.

It is just speculation though.

OBJ always had a big mouth and today is no different. He played very well for the Rams, so I don't have any ill will towards him. In fact, I wish the Rams could have re-signed him but it just didn't work out. Good luck OBJ. Next man up!

Had he been healthy that whole game, I think it would have been a blowout. Easily. Not quite the numbers he proposed but heavily he might be.

OBJ was a contributor in 2021, unlike Desean Jackson. It still burns me that he received a ring for doing very little and quitting on the team.
