The Bengals won their division and are the 4th seed.

We won our division and are the 4th seed.

They won on the road at the #1 and #2 teams with the Chiefs being thought of as the best team in the NFL by many.

Yet still, all I fucking hear is about them being underdogs, especially here in/on UK media.

Some twat was on the BBC yesterday saying how much he had to suffer supporting the Bengals in the 90s' - er, excuse me my ill-informed friend, we were LITERALLY the worst team in the 90s' prior to 99.

Maybe we should be favourites, but I'm sick of all this Cinderella bullshit.

The LA Rams have never fucking won a Super Bowl yet the media is approaching this like we're the US men's Olympic basketball team.

Just like it was with the 49ers in the NFC Championship game, winning the Super Bowl is going to be that much sweeter. All I hear is how good the Bengals are. Yeah, they are good, but as the Rams found out in 2019 a bad OL will get you beat against a good defense. People seem to forget that the Rams DL is one of the best in the NFL. They will get pressure with just 4. Morris will have 7 in coverage. Joe Mixon is a good RB but no better than RBs that the Rams have already faced.

The Rams have to lose the game by turning the ball over or crucial penalties. They don't do either and IMO the Rams win by a comfortable margin.

Let's be honest here, most of us would be rooting for them. If they were playing the 49ers all of us would be beating the drum for Burrow. Besides the Lions and even then, it would be close I would be rooting for Cincinnati. I expected this, doesn't mean anything quite honestly as for the talking heads, they have two weeks, they have to make it interesting an I believe some of them talk them into taking the underdog because they are always giving you reasons why they can make it a game.

Believe or not it does not bother me, in 2018 everybody wanted the Rams and the Rams played horribly and more people are rooting for the Rams then you think because of Stafford & Donald. No worries, let's go out and kick their ass and send Joe back to his Burrow per @Elmgrovegnome

Don't sweat it folks. We heard it all before:

* Most thought the Rams would beat the Cards - They did!!!

* Most thought the Bucs would beat the Rams - NOT!!! STAFFORD MATCHED BRADY WITH 42 SECS LEFT...RAMS WIN DESPITE 4 TO's!!!

* Most thought the 9er's would beat the Rams - NOT!!! PAYBACK FROM WEEK 18. THE RAMS...DOWN 10 IN THE 4TH AND STAFFORD WENT TO WORK AND THE DEFENSE SHUT THE 9ER'S DOWN!!!

This Rams team sized themselves up against the 9er's because physically, the 9er's held the edge on them. The Ram OLine and DLine took a look in the mirror...AND THEY BEAT THE 9ER'S IN PHYSICAL PLAY WHEN IT MATTERED MOST AND ARE NFC CHAMPS!!!

The Rams are rightfully favored by 4pts. The media has to create storylines for this game. They're going to create storylines them for both sides...and let's be factual, the Bengals are a great story as to how they got here..their road was more dramatic, so the media plays it up.

THE GAME GETS PLAYED TOMORROW...THAT'S WHEN THE BENGALS STORY ENDS!!!

There was some gambling guru on local radio yesterday who's major point about this game is that McVay has a history of getting tight in games and blowing leads.... Seriously.
Well, it happened once. He wasn't lying...

.

Yeah and I heard that Joe Burrow once got sacked 9 times in a game but still managed to win it.

How are they not 20 point favourites?

.
Greg Cosell pointed out yesterday with Cowherd that the Bengals are not winning this game if they have a similarly bad performance from the O-line.

"They're not winning this game with 7 sacks."

Mike Robb's "Bold Prediction" on GMFB Weekend....

Joe Mixon 220 total scrimmage yards.

Right up there with Ron Wolfley's bullshit from yesterday afternoon's local show...he had Mixon rushing for 130+ yards.

Crack is bad for your health, gentlemen.

Had Mixon on my dynasty FF squad so just checked his season stats.

His highest scrimmage yard total was 163 against the Steelers (LOL, -2 receiving yards). He had only three games with 100+ rushing yards (127, 123 and 165). That's against Minnesota, Vegas and Pittsburgh.

Narrative uber alles!

Let's face it everyone likes an underdog. The Bengals were a big underdog when the season started and it continued in the playoffs. The Rams are the clamor team with the big stars even though they were not expected to make it into the Super Bowl. Some media types don't like how they built the team.

Vegas sets the odds/point spread which they are very good at most of the time. Considering the Rams are a 4 point favorite as of yesterday that continues the Bengals underdog narrative in the betting world which is integrated into the NFL. The Rams also have the advantage of staying at home and not traveling to the Super Bowl which may have increased the spread.

All in all 4 points is not a big spread. Differing opinions make the two-week wait a little more interesting. The game starts at 0-0 and we get to see what narrative takes shape. All in all, I think it is a good matchup. By no means am I taking the Bengals lightly! I've been trying to imagine how the game plays out. I wish I knew as I could place a nice bet knowing the outcome.
