Here me out Bro's. At the end of the game, we all have seen the isolation camera on the coach and his very vocal exclamation he let loose.

Now I'm no prude and my language can be very colorful at times, especially during excitement filled Rams games. But I have never heard anyone say that McVay has used expletives like that in the past. Very much to the contrary, he portrays himself as self-assured, confidence and very erudite. Of course I don't live with him so I wouldn't know how he is when he is in the comfort of his own home, so to speak.

So what concerns me is that he has been holding in all these emotions, through all these games, dealing with the mounting pressures he places on himself to succeed and in this emotional filled game, he finally let it all hang out. Some would say that is not a bad thing but in my eyes, has he been bottling these feelings up? Is it an isolated instance or is he about to "crack" so to speak.

We don't need our boy wonder to go off the deep end and maybe get himself an unsportsmanlike like penalty for saying stuff to the refs during a game. I'm sure he wanted to do just that yesterday, let loose on the ref's for their calls and non-calls. Especially for the non-calls.

Maybe someone with an inside track to his girlfriend can tell her that her man needs a little more stress relief and would she be willing to help out?

Thoughts?

Thanks for your time.

I don't know.. his emotions have masked mine the last couple games at least on the surface...

He was pissed about the same things I was last game... and this game....

I'd say he agitated for completely logical reasons.

Giving up 38 ppg the last two games plus a lot of dumb penalties - no matter how good your offense is, that recipe is not going to get you through the playoffs without a loss.

I noticed a long time ago, with one of those miked up segments, he's different around the players. But yeah he's very into proactivity (as opposed to reactivity), and expects it from the players as well. Proactive people direct their own paths, emotions, etc. instead of letting others do it, so to speak. Big-picture, goal-oriented rather than reacting to circumstances around you.

A presser is different than game day on the field.

When I meet with potential clients I am professional, calm and informative and don't swear.

Outside of work and especially when fucking I can make an entire aircraft carrier say "WTF did he just say???"

Although not at this level.........hahahahahaha

Great line at the end........."she hung up"

I do think about McVay getting burned out. Especially with such early success. He has to be completely exhausted. But there’s enough veteran coaches and players to keep everything level. People forget it’s only McVays 2nd season. I doubt he will be this emotional in 10 years.

I think burnout is a different thing that what @VeteranRamFan is talking about but I will let him clarify if it is or isn't.

He's fine. He addressed it in the press conference. He's just trying to control Fowler, et al. It's not easy being Alpha and Boy Wonder at the same time.

And I'm sure he's kicking himself for not going for it on 4th and 4, as it was out of character and would have made a statement with both the offensive and defensive players, regardless of whether it was successful or not.

I think what you're describing is "demeanor", which McVay spoke of in his post game presser. Most of the truly great leaders keep an even keel to themselves. They don't get to high, and don't get to low. We could list a thousand guys like that.

McVay has had an awesome demeanor about himself up until this moment, and based on what he said in the presser, I think he recognizes that he (and the team) lost their cool to themselves. And, that they need to work on that and reel it back in.

I wouldn't panic on McVay losing it from just this one instance. We need to see if it becomes a pattern at all over the course of the remaining season. I think it's good you pointed it out @VeteranRamFan, and let's keep an eye on it the next month or so. There are some games coming up on the schedule that could easily have potential for demeanor to go out the window (Chiefs, Bears, Eagles), so let's just see how McVay and the Rams handle it. I think they'll "A-OK". This Rams team overall is one of the classiest group of players on one team that I can recall.

I have seen a couple mic'd up segments during training camp and games where his language was blocked out. I don't think it's anything new. I think he just caught up in the emotions at the end of the game. He addressed it in the presser today, too. He'll be fine.

Clearly not burnout way too young for that. I am sure he felt all those dumb penalties put us in a very precarious position to possibly lose this game. What I mean by this is he and his staff have put the Rams in a great position all game and the Fowler and AD penalty almost ripped it out of his hands and that really blasts him I am sure. He expects more. But when you get childlike players like Fowler this is what you get. AD should know better but he didn't either. Hopefully this is a one off and all learn from this situation. But just so you know every team is going to be provoking Saffold, AD, Fowler etc. We need to grow up. That imo is why this happened.
