April 14: According to a Rams' source of ours, St. Louis really loves Alec Ogletree. The Rams are expected to go safety and linebacker over a receiver in the first round, though Tavon Austin and Cordarrelle Patterson are "in play."

April 13: "It will be surprising if the Rams don’t take a wide receiver with one of their two first-round picks. It will be shocking if they don’t take a wideout somewhere in the first two rounds." - St. Louis Post-Dispatch

April 10: "According to league source, Cordarrelle Patterson may fall out of the 1st." - Lance Zierlein, Houston Chronicle. The NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah backed this up, tweeting, "I've been hearing this a lot." Patterson is widely mocked to the Rams at No. 16 or 22.

April 5: "As much as they need help on offense, Rams might not be able to pass on Alec Ogletree if he's there at 16," - Jim Thomas

April 3: Mel Kiper said that Tavon Austin is in the mix for the Buccaneers, Panthers and Rams.

April 1: "Scouts are questioning whether Lacy is too injured to run or just too slow." - Tony Pauline on Eddie Lacy, who has been linked to the Rams more than any other team.

March 30: "For [Tavon] Austin, some perceive his over-under spot in round one to be pick 15." - ProFootballTalk

March 24: Jim Thomas, who covers the Rams for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, has the Rams picking Chance Warmack and Eddie Lacy going to the team in his most recent mock draft. Lacy is worth noting since the Rams recently lost Steven Jackson. However, Lacy could be available in Round 2 if he doesn't run prior to the draft.

March 19: Adam Schefter said that Tavon Austin won't make it to Minnesota's pick. One team that could use him in St. Louis; the team needs a replacement for Danny Amendola.

Jan. 27: The Rams showed special interest in Georgia safety Sanders Commings. - St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

OK. I admit it, I am their source.

I wouldn't. That's their greatest need at this point, IMO.
But ... at the same time ... I'd expect them to trade down a couple/few spots and still get their guy too.

Good to see you too, East. :nice:

Nice site.

Really? @ 16? The fuck has anyone seen him mocked that high consistently?

Highest I've seen is 19 to the Giants. But if the Rams want him, they can't hope he drops to 22.

He won't make it to 22. Da Bears at 20 to see to that.

He's just so raw. Idk. If we're going that route I'd rather go Patterson @16.

Helll at this rate we are going to see the Rams pick a QB with both first round selections

There are some linebacker hungry teams between 16 and 22.

Steelers, Giants, Bears, the Bungles jump at the chance to pick any kind of a player with a past. If we really like him, we have to get him at 16, and there's not a huge difference in value in this draft where we pick, so just get your guy.

The 16th pick REALLY looks prime for a trade down and get an additional 2nd round pick. I think I like it. I like it A LOT. (Forrest? Is that you?)

Oh I agree, and I like Ogletree. If this is the avenue the team takes I have no problem with it. 16 just seemed pretty high for him with all the character concerns. I guess it's not though. Personally I would want someone who I KNOW can be a difference maker @ 16. I think under Fisher and Bush he may become that. I just feel like some of the other players are better suited to become a difference maker with less risk. Guy is raw, very raw. He'll be a player though if coached right. I just think considering the same argument for Patterson, I go Patterson.

He's my top rated kick returner.

DR's take: Decent size, tough, and extremely coachable. Dumb as a stick, but fast as fuck. Best thing is that you never have to worry about a concussion taking him out of the game, nobody would know the difference.

I wonder why he didn't enter the draft. Probably could have gone in the 2nd to Oakland.
