How is the 17 game season working, and is 18 games a good idea?

It doesnt matter if we want it or not! It matters what the " Owners" want and they clearly want this because its Money. Its 90% coming sooner rather than later.

Only way I think for this to work is two bye weeks. One near the International game ,and another depending on when that game is.

18 games/ Two bye weeks = 20 Weeks of normal Season/16 games international

So say Week 5 is International game for Rams, Bye week 6, and Another bye week Week 12-16.

I would not have international games in weeks 1-2, or 19-20.

If your international game is week 3 or 18 you get a Thurs night game the week before and can elect to have your bye week after that game or split byes across the season depending on your team. Any team can opt out of thier bye week being after thier Inter-Game. If opting out of having a bye week after your international game you would get a Thursday game the week before and Monday the week after.

Expand the Roster and allow Qbs to sub anytime in and out.

Week 5 Rams International game Schedule:

Keep Bye Week after International game: Opt Out:

Week 4 - Sun 4:25 Week 4 - Thursday 8:25pm
Week 5 - International Game Week 5 - International Game
Week 6 - Bye Week 6 - Monday 8:25PM
Week 7 - Sun 1pm Week 7- Sun 1Pm
Week 8- Monday 8:25pm Week 8 - Bye #1

That's what I was going to say. Writing is on the wall. Preseason games don't bring near as much money. So many players don't even play in them anyways. Roster definitely needs to expand but it's pretty hard to get an employer to add employees not matter what the industry.

Right agreed, but in the end no one will be asking the players and the players union will take the L in return for…something.

If the NFL wants 18 gms they’ll get it.

I don't want more games but if they do there needs to be two bye weeks, expanded rosters, and IR only being 4 games a permanent thing with no limit on number of players teams can bring back for season. No reason if a star can come back they shouldn't be able to.

It sucks that injuries and the limitations of the human body are such a big factor in the sport we love. It would be so cool if outcomes were completely based on talent, ability, coaching etc.
