Great, underrated play. This was, if I remember shortly after the sideline skirmish, and Donald decided to take over the game. I think his 3rd and 1 stop was even more impressive. It's like he was at a drag race, reached out from the sideline and grabbed one of the cars before it passed the checkered flag, last second and pulled it backward. Even @Merlin isn't THAT strong!

It was and they were threatening to score another TD after the INT off Skows hands. This helped push them back and kept them to a FG.

AD could be the best Ram ever ! That was a lot of pressure on Donald. McVay told him this is his time to get it done. And he did just that double teamed !
BUT, I am a drag racer and no checkered flags involved. Thats a circle track deal my friend.

True, my friend touche'- I stand corrected!

Michales mailed it in - one of worst calls of all time. AD’s stop on Perrine on third and one may have been the most impressive. Stopped him in his tracks from behind.
The 3rd down stop on Perine was huge but the entire Network coverage blew the call.

Donald and Gaines were each blocked but stood their ground, and had one hand free ... Donald's right and Gaines' left; and they Each grabbed Perine with their free hand to stop him. Neither Michaels nor Collinsworth picked-up on it; and, none of the Network's many other eyes, covering the game, informed the announcers so that they could inform their audience.

Great example of horrible coverage of a huge moment in a huge game.

Gaines was at his feet in front of him too. Just to be fair...

"By the hair of their skinny teeth teeth" - Al Michaels

How they let him call games at this point is a mystery. I used to really like him, but he has been awful for years now

Agree. I think Al Michaels has been awful for more than a decade.

It's odd to me that so many sports announcers (play-by-play and analysts) are allowed to continue well-passed their prime (in my opinion). So many examples; and everyone would never agree on all of them.

Many sports fans love certain announcers, and remain loyal (and ignore their decline) to the end.

I was guilty of that with Phil Rizzuto (Yankees' announcer for fifty years ... from before I was born, throughout my childhood and well into my adult years). He went from bad-to-worse at the end of that long career but I loved the Scooter!

He was one of the exceptions for me; and, most sports fans have an exception or two.

There are football announcers (Al Michaels is one ... Collinsworth is another for me) that I watch their games but with the sound off. I don't believe they can tell me anything I don't know or can't see ... and, all they can do is piss-me-off.
