Johnny Tricycle just got kicked out of the CFL.

Johnny Manziel has been kicked out of the Canadian Football League.

The Montreal Alouettes announced Wednesday that they have been instructed by the league to terminate Manziel's contract because he "contravened the agreement which made him eligible to play in the league."

“We are disappointed by this turn of events," Alouettes general manager Kavis Reed said in a statement released by the team. "Johnny was provided a great deal of support by our organization, in collaboration with the CFL, but he has been unable to abide by the terms of his agreement. We worked with the league and presented alternatives to Johnny, who was unwilling to proceed."

Manziel, his agent and a CFL spokesperson did not immediately respond to requests for comment from USA TODAY Sports.

Did he get caught partying again, when he promised not to? A league wouldn't force a contract termination just cause you're a loser. I mean somebody's got to lose games.

Never thought he'd pan out. He was way too thin to be a starter, and he had off-the-field issues. I just never thought that his off-the-field issues would be this bad.

The guy is just a waste of space - he needs to get his head sorted - he's still only 26(?) so young enough to turn this thing around, he obviously has some issues that he needs to deal with.

It must have been something substantial enough to be barred from all of the CFL teams.
 
At first I thought he was an arrogant putz, but then when he acknowledged his substance abuse issues and also his struggles with bipolar disorder, I started to root for him.

Now I don’t know what to think. The 2016 charge of domestic violence, and now he’s done *something* (they won’t say what) that got him banned from the whole CFL.

Who knows. Still find it laughable that a few armchair GM’s kept holding out hope that he’d be a fit for the Rams.

Whatever is going on, seems like Johnny is determined to keep screwing up...

Wasting away in Margaritaville, Canada isn’t a great thing either. It seems likely to me he was trying to get kicked out of the CFL. It’s hard to play football in mittens and a heated beer holster belt. What’s next? AAF? XFL? I suspect his exodus from Canuckville was planned.
