I really need hope at the QB position. ... If we don't get the QB right for the next 5 years, we will get close but in reality, no Superbowl.

Could not disagree more.

At 37, Stafford has a limited time remaining as an NFL QB but (age aside) other than Mahomes, Allen, Jackson and Burrow, I think he is the best Quarterback in the League.

Also, the Rams do not appear to be in any realistic position to add an elite young quarterback at this time.

Arguably best QB in NFC.
I’d go after someone like Levis, either way.

I’m not impressed with Levis. Not sure if he can go from zipper to button fly with McVay as his coach.

There are some younger talented QBs on rosters right now who could work under Stafford and be ready to take over. Levis would probably cost more than I'd want to pay in a trade. Plus I believe there are some talented guys in you can get for cheaper that could end up just as good. I'd honestly like to look at Joe Milton.

He may not be. But if it only costs a 6th or 7th round pick, it's worth seeing for ourselves. The alternative is taking a QB in the late 3rd or 4th round. I'm open to that too, but it costs you more draft compensation.
A draft pick isn't the only alternative. A vet QB, like Garoppolo, is an option.

If we're retaining Stafford, they're in win now mode for the next year or two. A vet is more conducive to that goal.

Both Levis or your late 3rd or 4th could be another Bennett situation. I.e. scary! And effectively screwed if Stafford goes down for any length of time.

Agreed

Garoppolo does nothing to help us prepare for a future without Stafford. We can re-sign a vet and bring in a young QB if we want. But purely relying on a vet is shortsighted imo. And Levis wouldn't be like the Bennett situation because he's already started a number of games in the NFL. (Plus, Bennett ended up away from the team due to his personal demons.)

Yay on Fields and Z.Wilson.
Jets and Bears environment is just not good to QB’s or anyone else involved. Dysfunctional. Hard to evaluate young players who come thru there.

Nay on Levis and Lawrence. I didn’t like Lawrence coming out. Said so here.
Tbh I haven’t seen enough of Levis.

Agree on Fields and Z.Wilson. Wilson got away from the awful situation in NY and, by all accounts, had an excellent preseason and the team loved him. Fields led the team to what, 4-1 before they started Wilson. And what did he really have? Pickens and a good D? Guess what we have? That, McVay, and a good OL. I'd like my chances.
