For me a nice find. Found a 1961 edition of Laurousse Gastronomique. In english! Paid $1.00. In very nice condition.:yess:

My wife and I will on our first date in over a year (darn kids and no babysitters) and she agreed to go to the Dallas/Rams game with me. Very excited about everything that's happened. Great day all around.

Good news, after deciding I could probably get several more years out of my aging central AC unit, nature decided "Nah, fuck that," and hit it with lightning. Now my homeowner's insurance is replacing it. Also a few electronics in the house that got fried. Bolt missed me by about 20 feet (was outside trying to get the dog to drop a donk).

Win.

Heart attack 7 years ago.....quit a 30 year cigarette habit on July 12, 2010

Great to wake up every morning!
Quitting smoking is no joke, congrats man. I quit after about five years and it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Can't imagine after 30.

Did you have mad insomnia when you quit?

I have had bouts of insomnia that I have always attributed to job stress and other pressures.

When I had the heart attack, I was smoking a pack a day, was 40 pounds over weight, had a dickhead sales manager and just bought a new house and moved into it.

After getting a stent, I began to exercise on a near daily basis, lost a bunch of weight and my sleep has gotten better.

Exercise is the key, I think. I try to do about an hour a day if I can.

congratulations. I know a ton of people who smoke tobacco and it's odd how their attitudes adjust once they've quit compared to when they were smoking. My gf's little brother for example goes nuts when he doesn't have a cigarette or money for 1. There's a guy across the street that bums cigs off her little brother, but I've witnessed him going through the yard looking for half used cigs to smoke. Anyways, congrats bro, hope you keep it up and hope you're enjoying life.

I had the same contingencies that revolved around smoking....

Had to have cigs
Had to have a lighter
A place to buy them
An outdoor area to smoke them
Designated smoking areas in airports that made me feel like an animal in a zoo

I don't have to worry about any of that
My heart and lungs are healthier

It's a better life

Hope yours is as well!

Plus... you no longer smell like an ashtray.

I know. I quit smoking over 10 years ago. It is like finding freedom for the 1st time.
