Did they suddenly lose all faith in Jones or did I miss something about this trade ??

Just read about this trade of Jones and a 6th for about ZERO (a 5th, REALLY?)in return ?? What in the world happened to set this in motion ?? I knew about some trade talk, but I didn't see this coming..

Couldnt agree on money but I thought I heard something about knee issues on top of it. LB is a position you really don't pay unless they are true difference makers though.

It didn’t sound like McVay was too pleased with him. He kept referring to him as a Professional. I’m guessing there were three words you can guess that follow professional.

Sounds like Jones wasn’t giving it his all this preseason from McVay’s comments so they sent him to purgatory.

He’s had knee issues for a couple of years now.
That's true but Jones only missed four games in three seasons; and last year played 934 defensive snaps in 15 starts ... that's 62 defensive snaps per-game. That's about 95% of the defensive snaps in an NFL game.

Even if he is compromised, I don't see how the Rams are better in 2024 without him.

Two of the five ILBs are undrafted rookie free agents. The other three (Roseboom, Reeder and Hummel) were on the team, with Ernest Jones, last year. They combined for less than 800 defensive snaps. That's because Jones was much better.

Are the Rams suggesting that in the eight months since they last played, Jones has regressed so much and the three journey-men veterans have improved so much that they have passed Ernest Jones?

I just don't see how the Rams are better in 2024 as a result of this trade.

Trust in McVay man.

Trust in McVay man.
Best Head Coach in the NFL ... thrilled he is the Rams' HC. Snead is an excellent GM. Top Organization.

They are Not perfect. They Do make mistakes. Blind Faith in anyone is rarely a Good Idea.
