IMO him or Johnson was going to get nabbed either way, guess they valued a S more.

Isaiah Johnson? I doubt it, he's been released multiple times and has been PS material since he went undrafted in 2015. Demby, otoh, was just drafted this year and showed starter potential in limited playing time so far.

I still don't understand.

Pretty sure a few of us emphasized he wouldn't make it to the PS in the OLine thread. Now we've lost a young lineman hope Johnson was worth it at safety.

Probably kept Johnson over him for his special teams value. I to hated to see them lose Demby but I heard he was a little slow footed, could be just thinking too much.
 
Complaining? Anyone wish we have one of the 49er starters as in Mike Person?
 
He might develop. If the Rams felt he were a sure thing, or even that it was likely he'd develop into a good multiposition backup, I doubt they would have risked him. As it is, they felt he was a 6th round pick they might want on the practice squad, but who they did not want to use a roster spot for at this time.

Well apparently the coaching staff disagrees with that assessment.
 
Just a strange move by the Rams. Demby wasn't doing much in preseason. Still would thought they would have liked to keep him. He may get cut by the Lions.
 
Good teams have a tougher time moving players off the roster onto the practice squad, such as the Rams were trying to do with Demby. Suspect one of our 3rd rounders next year will be used on OL.

Well, here's hoping Isiah Johnson is the Cory Littleton of special teams and Brandon Allen is a bonafide backup to Goff for many years to come.
