Maybe giving up two 200 yrd rushing performances to the top NFC team might make you think run defense is important?
Well, it sure doesn't seem like McVay and Snead look at it the way you do. They've given no indication that this has made them change their mind.

I wouldn't personally mind an upgrade at ILB myself including more capital being invested there.

To be fair, we have yet to see any moves, post those two games and this season. We will have to wait and see what they do.

A dominant LB would allow the DL to play more aggressively down field. It would be brutal for opposing QBs.

Are you questioning Shula? He proved that he’s a keeper at the middle to the end of the season.

The only teams who made our defense look pedestrian were the Eagles and Bills, and they did that to everyone: the Bills were the number one offense and the Eagles won it all.

And we played well defensively against the Eagles except for 3 run plays.

If we had a LB that could diagnose those plays better, we would have stuffed the eagles defensively.

Speights was good for the most part but he was still a rookie and had a tendency to misdiagnose a play from time to time.

I’m confident in saying Reeder/ Rozeboom were a bottom 3 NFL starting ILB corp when the season started. Speights improved the run defense but not the pass defense. He was a rookie so I expect significant improvement from him in the next 2 years. We know what we have in Rozeboom (no bueno). The Eagles exposed them (not once but twice). I’d like the Rams to pursue one of these options for ILB:
1) add a proven ILB (Zach Baun/Nick Bolton/Greenlaw) vet that can cover sideline to sideline. Add a late round Draft pick that can cover TEs in case Speights still struggles in pass coverage.
2) add a 3rd round draft pick ILB that can cover sideline to sideline. Add a vet ILB that can cover TEs in case Speights still struggles in pass coverage.
Confident we were bottom 3 in the NFL at ILB? Shit, thats being kind. I dont know of any team who was working with less. Anything we do at the position will be an upgrade.

And yet Shula did a better job vs the Eagles than Spags and Quinn in DC. Give me our guy every day of the week.

Sort of throwing CRAP on a solid defensive season. I don’t think Fangio gets more out of this group than Shula.

I guess the poster doesn’t believe in relationships.I’d say I’m more concerned in 2025 that The Rams didn’t resign a bunch of those players who stepped up.

I also believe Stafford is GONE w/ Kupp opening up a beautiful (can’t say it,to soon) WINDOW!!

Sad to think though all things come to an end ? Imagine as you will . We’ll see what happens, but I like this Rams Team & Future.

I was being generous going by the rule there’s ALWAYS someone better and someone worse off.
