Isn't he the only effective RB the Rams have when it comes to blitz pick-up?

I shudder thinking about that. . .

Or is Benny Cunningham okay at that, as well?

I think Trey Watts will be good once he gets the hang of it -- he seems to be not only quite intelligent but also very willing to learn --, but Tre Mason has me very, very worried when it comes to his being able to quickly absorb what's expected of him on the blitz pick-up front.

Benny and Watts can get the job done picking up blocks that's one reason why Watts is active and not mason. But I expect for mason to play Monday if stacy can't go

This is why I want Gurley....badly

And if not him, Melvin Gordon / Mike Davis / TJ Yeldon.

Big, strong, powerful backs that can take a beating.

Cunningham and Watts are solid with pass protection, it's Mason who has failed miserably, however, I am sure he's improving each and every week. Fine going with Cunningham & Watts because Stacy has now been putting the ball on the ground too often and yes one time on the ground is too often.

Didn't we draft a RB? Jesus, are we gonna use any of them (The draft picks)!? Jake Long needs to be replaced by Robinson. It's really that simple. I wasn't able to watch the whole game but how often is Donald even in? It's annoying seeing these high profile named guys sitting on the bench--when the players in front of them aren't necessarily lighting the world on fire.

Fish has mentioned they need to get Mason involved. I presume he's been making huge strides in pass blocking for Fish to say that. And I think if Mason can crack this lineup adding an ability to bust big runs with what looks to be an already potent passing game makes this offense's ceiling even higher.

At this point, I'd like to just see what Mason could do in a real game. Just don't put him in as a blocker. Perhaps two RB's? Have him receive now and then so it's not so obvious that it's a running play. I just want to see what he can do.

I don't care who is in the backfield, if Scott Wells is going to do his best turnstyle impression on every passing play, you cannot establish a pocket and it nullifies the blocking back, who routinely picks up the free edge rushers.

THIS...is what I'm talking about. Cunningham and Watts may be as good or Cunningham slightly better than Stacy @ pass pro.

BAM! There it is.

Sadly I have to agree with this. My hope though is that they figure it out. I don't think Wells is actually this bad and I also don't think Long is as bad as he's been playing. This O-line needs to pick up their level of play - PERIOD.

I like Bam Bam a bit better than Stacy, but what do I know, I'm just a peon anyway.

But has anyone heard how long Stacy's injury will keep him out, if he is out at all
