If I am correct Cooper Kupp is only around 230 yards away from breaking Calvin Johnson’s Single Season Receiving Yardage (1964) Record and I think 17 Receptions from breaking Michael Johnson’s Receptions (149) Record. With the Rams having 2 Games left it won’t be easy but I think it can be done IF the Rams don’t sit him for any length of time.

While there is no doubt the Rams getting to and winning this Season’s Super Bowl is the most important goal for the Rams it would be nice to see a player like Cooper Kupp get into the NFL Record Books! Who would have thought when the Rams drafted WR Cooper Kupp (4.62 Time) in the 3rd Round of the 2017 NFL Draft from Eastern Washington that he might be setting new NFL Receiving Records?

I didn’t know he’d break records but pre-draft in one of Jerry’s discussions, I said Kupp was worth a first round pick and I was worried that the Rams wouldn’t get a shot at him. I thought Green Bay would target him. I couldn’t believe he lasted as long as he did and didn’t or the Rams gambling on him being available later. But teams passed on him. That’s GMs getting too crazy over measurables.

I watched Kupp in three games in his last college season. I couldn’t believe it when he was being listed as a first round talent the following off-season.

Unfortunate that any single season records will always have some people who will insist that they carry an asterisk because of the extra game..Of course that will fade a few years after the 17 game schedule has become the norm..
I happen to believe that the players union will make a push to drop the 17th game, but I certainly could be wrong...The record thing will be not unlike baseball going from 154 to 162 to some...

I'm in the 16 game season camp. Now, if he can do it 16 games that's a record.

He is having a great season! Stay healthy Cooper Kupp!

Cooper Kupp continues assault on single-season catch, yardage records

Cooper Kupp could still set a pair of single-season records before the current season ends.
With 10 catches for 109 yards against the Vikings on Sunday, Kupp now has 132 receptions for 1,734 yards in 15 games. That puts him 17 catches behind the single-record of 149 (Michael Thomas, 2019) and 230 yards behind the single-season record of 1,964 (Calvin Johnson, 2012).
With games against the Ravens and 49ers still on the docket, Kupp has a chance to break both of those records. Baltimore’s secondary has been ravaged by injuries, and San Francisco’s has struggled at times, due to injuries and inexperience.
Yeah, he’d do it in 17 games. But, again, that’s the new length of the season. And it’s not changing. Until it expands to 18.
Meanwhile, Kupp’s chances of winning the MVP also were enhanced a bit today, given that quarterback Matthew Stafford may have fallen out of the race for good with three interceptions. With Stafford likely not taking votes from Kupp, maybe Kupp can be the first receiver to be named the NFL’s MVP.

Well, I doubt the players who signed contracts after the agreement was in place will be happy about giving up 1/17th of their pay, so....

What about 14 game season records that got broke when it was changed to a 16 game season? What about passing records from a heavy 3 yards and pile of dirt to the pass happy NFL of today? If he gets there then its his record until it gets broke in a an 18 game season.

Fuck the records, just win baby!

Van Brocklin 554 yds passing single game
Dickerson 2015 yds rushing season
Anderson 335 yds single game passing
Night Train Lane 14 int"s single season
Deacon Jones God knows how many sacks single season

Just off the top of my head Rams NFL individual records. I'm sure there's more.

I want to live to see Rams with most SB wins!

I don’t think he will break the records because they most likely won’t try to get it done. That will not feminist his accomplishments in my mind.

How many games did Crazy Legs play to set the receiving TD mark?

Has any league in any successful sport ever decided to play fewer games? I’d be surprised.

He'll top Jerry Rice's 1995 season, his best, in 16 games, if he gets 114 yards this week.
He's already topped Rice's receptions for that year.. and will tie TDS that year with one more.

I will greatly enjoy it if he manages to do that and will hit my 9ers fans friends with it.

Oh.. and Kupp is beating the field by a much bigger margin than Rice did that year.

Yeah MJD said it best last week: "if it's broken it's broken." There are no asterisks and footnotes all over everything and people don't care enough to track all that shit.

I do think it's an unfortunate part of extending the season. I do hate that side of it. And if I'm Kupp I would want to break it in 16 games or be listed as #2 in that respect. But that isn't the way it works unfortunately.

Well as bad as the Ravens pass defense has been... there is a chance he could have a big game this week.
