Comic-Con is opening in San Diego. I'm thinking of going. I've never been to one. has anyone here!? Opinions Please!

Comic Con? I assume that is like a comic book convention. That sounds like fun but I've never had an opportunity to go to one. I did however get real drunk in Las Vegas one night and wondered into a Star Trek convention. Yikes!

Have never gone , but would really love to , the San Diego Comic Con has really exploded over the last 10 years , it's gone way beyond just comic books any more , every movie studio and cable channel that has something to promote is there

Well............

Except this year , Marvel won't be there , which would be a major bummer , they always had big news at San Diego

But I suppose now that both Marvel and Star Wars are both owned by Disney , they feel they no longer need San Diego Comic Com , they can do their own thing

But I usually check in every day on line to see what happened that day at Comic Con ,

If you have a chance to go , I would most definitely go, looks like a total blast , but you have to go in costume , I'm pretty sure it's the rule

Its very hard to get tickets for San Diego Comic Con, but if you do it can be a blast. Although lesser known ones would be more fun if you want more comic and less commercialism.

Yeah, it sells out in minutes if not seconds.

San Diego Comic Con is an awful tough ticket.

I think it's a mistake for Marvel to leave Comic Con. It leaves the entire Con to DC and they actually have a decent slate of things coming up.

Comic Con is awesome... I went in 2008. Worked, not for fun, as I was manning a booth in the Star Wars pavilion, but holy hell what an experience.

You can't get a ticket, I can almost guarantee, but IF you somehow miraculously manage one, it's a tremendously fun event. If you're a geek. Which I am.

Going down to Rancho Bernardo softball tourney for my daughters 8U team...I found it really hard to get rooms down there due to comic-con...Thought it was actual comedians...LOL...hope to see some cat women & spider girl costumes with the fellas after the games are over...:sneaky:

What part of Diego will this stuff be happening?

You know there is no chasing when you're with your daughter.

Even though I know people that have used their kids as bait that shit isn't right LOL. Puppies and kittens are OK, but not the little ones everyone knows it's kryptonite to them :)

Well I hope you see some of this floating around the lobby bar hahaha.....

Like others said the SD con is the holy grail. It's on my bucket list one of these days. Gotta do a helluva lot of research before going.

I went to Wizard World here in town. All it basically is booths with different comic and pop culture stuff. Art, toys, shirts, comic books, collectibles, etc. There's also celebs, but you have to pay to meet them. I got to meet Jason David Frank (Tommy the Green Ranger and MMA fighter) for free tho, by taking his class.

Also cosplay and people watching. There are definitely weirdos that show up there.
