I got into a discussion with a guy on Fakebook about wether or not Kaepernick could be a starter in the NFL now. Former NFL player Quintus McDonald was in on the discussion and he thinks that Kaepernick absolutely should be starting in the league. This other Rufus was posting stats and ignoring my more telling stats. I think I know what most of you think.

I think he can still play and probably still is lower half quality.

For me the bigger issue is the distraction. That, plus his level of play, is why he’s not on a team.

Not anywhere close to worth it (if your goal is winning).

Even when Kaep wasn't rusty, he wasn't a fan of noise and his play reflected it..

He didn't lose his job because he kneeled. Just sayin.
Are you saying if the dude was Tom Brady in his prime, we'd see a 100% kneeling during tthe anthem with York right beside him, massaging his temples...?

He could probably play a position other than QB. But he will not put in the work to be an NFL QB. Kurt Warner tried to help him, and he pretty much wasn't interested in putting in the effort to learn Ds or work with his WRs.

If it had been a year or two ago I'm sure he would have been an okay starter. (And there was a scarcity of quality starters then.) I'm sure he'd have been better or on par with Bortles or Flacco.

Right now, I can't imagine with two years off he'd be good enough to start nor even if he was playing at the level he left the 49ers at.

I AM sure he's still better than a lot of backups in the league. He'd probably be better than RGIII and a good backup in Baltimore.

If he really wanted to play, he would have gotten a job 2 years ago. He was a back up and that was all anyone was willing to pay him for. So he declined the offers. He now just wants to put his name out there so the black ball bullshit can start over.

He both sucks and will be a team distraction to anyone dumb enough to sign him. The 3-ring circus media will be all over him, focus on him during every anthem and constantly ask him about non-football crap. He can stay out of the league and good riddance. Seeing him on the yahoo front pages got annoying years ago.
