Cam Newton injured in car wreck

Half the reports say both legs "visibly broken," other half says he's fine. I really hope he's fine. Sounds like the other driver ran a red light and T-boned his truck.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was reportedly involved in a car accident Tuesday in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to The Charlotte Observer.

The newspaper reports that a car crashed and overturned on Interstate 277 at 12:30 p.m. ET. A second car reportedly was also involved in the wreck.

Rescuers arrived on the scene and loaded Newton onto a stretcher and into an ambulance, per Jonathan Jones of The Observer.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed to the newspaper that Newton was driving the vehicle and that he was able to communicate.

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has been taken to a Charlotte-area hospital after being involved in a car accident on Tuesday. Per multiple reports, the authorities have said that Newton’s injuries are not serious.

Newton’s truck flipped, up to four times according to one report. Though the trip to the hospital was a precaution, one photograph from the scene show Newton immobilized on a stretcher. He nevertheless was conscious and smiling after the crash.

For now, the most important news is that Newton did not suffer serious injuries.

Maybe Cam really is Superman to come out okay from a truck that flipped over 4 times. :eek:
 
Thanks whoever edited my headline, glad to hear he's not injured. I do like Newton a lot, he's a fun QB to watch when he's got any semblance of a line. That and with as scary as the crash looked, it's good to see anyone walk away OK.
 
Fuckin' red-light runners. One of those jagoffs put me out of commission for a year.
