Obviously I've been banging the drum for Trent Murphy or Ray whom we got a look at first hand Sunday but if the raiders are really having a fire sale I'd love to get my hands on Irvin. He is about 30 still plays well and might be a bit of a monster feeding of our defensive line. A move like this would make me so very happy. What do you guys think about bringing his baby making ass over to LA????

No former Seahawks please.

He hasn't been a Seahag in a long time and I don't care where or who they played for if they can help us achieve our ultimate goal then I don't care if it was Ken Norton himself that punched the goal post in our Super Bowl win in 2019!!!! I just want to win. If Isaac Bruce can play for the whiners I'm ok with Irvin playing for us couple years removed from the hags.

I think he fits in many ways and saving our pennies for a rainy day defeats the purpose of the plan of what we are trying to accomplish on goffs rookie deal. It's all about winning. I'm also confident that the Rams have a plan in place for all key players especially goff.
Also let me ask you and the board a question would you take 5 more winning record seasons like 10-6 or better but no super bowls or would you take a Super Bowl this year? It's like if we won powerball and saved for the future and 5 months later we get hit by a bus. You can be smart and practical but it doesn't mean you shouldn't go for the gusto with in reason.

Keep preaching it, payote75.

I, too, hope that Snead is exploring all avenues to improve our edge rush.

Trade for picks, players, or sign a street FA, I don’t care.

We’re 6 games into the season, and while we are 6-0, it’s also painfully obvious that edge is our Achilles heel.

It’s also painfully obvious that even a Case Keenum can burn us deep if he’s given enough time.

We have an All World DL and a garage sale edge rush. How does that make sense on a team with SB aspirations?

Geez...

A lot of people with the All Madden mindset... Hell let me just stack my team... Ha.

No thanks on Irvin...
Not a All Madden, more of we want a super bowl now and upgrading a weakness to get there mindset. Right now Irvin would help this team, hands down he is a better pass rusher then anyone we have on the edge. He only has a year left on his contract after this season. Do you have a better option? I would take any proven vet that can pressure the qb and wont cripple our future cap

Our OLine was clowning on this guy after that game saying they knew he only had one move and they didn't have much to worry about from him. Not sure how that sounds like somebody that can help us.

6 games and 1 EDGE sack. Indicates to me that we haven't figured it out yet and that does not play favorably against better offenses left on our schedule (KC, NO, GB, Playoffs). Something needs to change with our EDGE pressure in order to help stiffen up the Defense.

Who's talking all madden???? We are talking improving a weakness on this team possibly trying to solidify what is an already strong team fact is teams have weakness can't just hang your hat on 6-0 or 16-0 playoffs are one and done and that's where weaknesses are primarily exposed. Adding an experienced edge rusher is not madden I'd say the Rams trying to trade or strongly get involved for Mack would be more madden no????? And yet the Rams did and people were salivating at the mere thought. All we are asking is to maybe address a weakness win a solid player that's all. Thanks @Rams43 at least it shows some of us get it. Course we want to field a madden team if we could but people here talking realistic stuff at least most are.

Aside from his ability or lack of the biggest thing that needs to be considered before we even discuss if the Rams would be better with him or not is his salary. His base this year is $8 million which happens to be twice what the Rams have in available cap space. Wanting somebody we can't begin to afford is nice but far from realistic, hence why people are calling it Madden mentality. It's wanting to add people that we can't realistically add.

Looked to me like the Raiders didn’t have an edge rush even with Irvin. At age 30, I would rather develop our young guys.

I'm all for developing and keeping our young guys but the time is now if you have Suh signed for one year and Joyner on one year and you don't know how long your window stays open in football especially ....I just don't want to stay "pat" for the sake of developing young ge cause it's like yea develop young guys then these young guys get older and you on the hunt again. Gurley at this level as a rb which tend to have shorter career spans you strike while the iron is hot. You can still develop young players especially if you draft well that's the key to everything but you can do it and win when the window is gaping open. The Rams have done an excellent job so I have faith but if fans are all for adding older vets like Suh or talib what difference does it make if we added an edge rusher who is 27-30 years old????? Complacency or settling never won a trophy. We seem to have all the necessary ingredients to bake a cake we may be an egg short why not try????

I'm not a capologist and I'm not saying strictly Irvin or bust. However nfl on fox claimed Rams restructured contracts and had 8.5 million available in cap space during Vikings game. In addition the season is 6 games in if we were to get him in two weeks we wouldn't be on the hook for full season salary correct? And as far as ability many factors go into Irvin or any other "solid" edge rusher the Rams would acquire ....one he probably better and obviously more experienced then what we got and most importantly our d-line would make an average edge rusher better instantly...can't block them all....as far as Irvin he is still effective and has no help so yes I'd be willing to do whatever it takes to address a weakness. If you had someone better in mind I'd be happy to hear it I just want to win and field best team possible. I'm thinking if the Rams got Mack there wouldn't f been to many complaints rt??
