Any RC fanatics out there?

I'm thinking of buying one of my sons a RC Helicopter for Christmas and want to get him a neat one. Anybody here mess with these things? I've seen them with cameras, lights, missiles, etc. Sounds fun.

I test flew one of those whirling blades of death in a Brooks Stone store @ the mall a year or two ago. I crashed that little fucker directly into the face of the cashier. I was certain that I had just sliced her eyes out.... thankfully, I only ended up tangling the shit out of her hair in the blades of death. Scissors were required for removal.

Those things are a Trip to the Emergency Room waiting to happen.

right, the petrol powered ones are powerful enough to slice thru a little ones limbs. I've always wanted one myself, but have been told I should wait until I am a very advanced user.

there is a guy at the park with a battery powered RC plane that has incredible range, speed and flight time, and is very safe, but I dont know the model, sorry.

Oh, I wouldn't consider a gas powered one for my son. He is a novice and they have too much power. I was thinking electric only.

That looks fun. Target sells some RC's controlled by iPhones. I probably have 6 (maybe 7) cars/trucks, including some very fast one's, but no flying objects.
