Hey guys I'm jamming out to reanimation today by LinKiN ParK :) Just curious what Albums you do listen front to back to and relax out or do whatever your doing in the day (workout, having a drink at home watching the tele, or in the shop.)




It seems we have a lot of older members so you might not Listen to LP.... just want to expand my horizons ;)

I really don't listen to whole albums (or radio) much anymore now that I have MP3s, but before the day, Meat Loaf's original "Bat Out of Hell" was a great listen for me.

True. At the time there was nothing like it on the music scene. It was totally original. The rest of their albums might as well have been called 'The Dark Side of Roger Waters.' Their albums got more depressing with each release. Although I did enjoy much of 'Wish You Were Here' though.

I truly loved 90% of everything they ever did, actually. Even the Waters "solo" album The Final Cut ;)
I even got into the weird pre Atom Heart Mother stuff...but Dark Side was like an epiphany of the senses.

the More soundtrack is great and so is Obscured by Clouds

Bought 'The Final Cut' and gave it away the next day. Maybe I was too hasty on that. The early stuff like 'Ummagumma' was practically unlistenable except for those of us who imbibed in mind altering chemicals before listening. :cool:

Here's an example of something that probably made many of us back in the day say WTH? The Syd Barrett influence no doubt -



David Gilmour definitely brought them into the mainstream for better or for worse.

Haha yep. Well i expanded my Floyd collection right around the age of 16 when i was also expanding my mind :cool: There were a few tracks on that Ummagumma album that would be a hard listen today. :)

And yes, thank goodness for Gilmour grounding that band in a sense.

We're hijacking The Rammers thread. Do we have an old Floyd thread somewhere? Lol

The Unforgettable Fire is another album that i truly fell in love with when i first heard it(heard it from start to finish through my Walkman cassette player when it was released). I went to this show by myself here in Phx because none of my friends were interested. Those same friends all went to see U2 the next time they came to town. Lol.
Beautiful record IMO. U2's '84 release right before the explosion of Joshua Tree in '87. Like Floyds Dark Side i never get tired of it.

Another TSO fan. They're spectacular in concert. We go almost every Christmas.

Rush, I agree, but have tired of Geddy Lee's voice. the talent level is through the roof.

Steely Dan is great too.
