So... I got to thinking how optimistic we are heading into this season. This is exciting times for Rams fans. I'm guessing pretty much every team has at least some degree of hope heading into this season...

Except for... The Oakland Raiders.

Holy crap their roster sucks! If that team isn't picking first overall in 2014 I'll be shocked.

I'm giving you two names on their roster; Sebastian Janikowski and Darren McFadden. Name another! Seriously!

It's got to suck to be a Raider fan!

What other team do you see with little - if no chance - to make the playoffs?

Cardinals!

Ha ha!

Although, they do have a good enough defense to be competitive... and I guess * cough * Palmer gives them the best QB option they've had in years.

So... even the pathetic Cardinals have a glimmer of hope - albeit false hope! :sly:

The jags,,, and their gay ass uniforms.

Off the top of my head; the Jags would have been my 2nd choice behind the Raiders.

I think everyone and their grandmother is not sold on Gabbert, but Henne is good enough if Gabbert continues being Gabbert.

They have a few more pieces in place, as opposed to Oakland; Blackmon, Jones-Drew, etc. Plus they have the makings of a decent oline.

Still; If I were a betting man... the Jags are picking top 10 in 2014.

Never say never. The Rams weren't supposed to win the superbowl in '99.

Here's their roster... Alex Barron is on it!

I would say the following teams will be the bottom 5 in the rankings this year;
1. Raiders
2. Jaguars
3. Jets
4. Bills
5. Titans

Re: Absolutely no chance to make the playoffs; Oakland Raide

I concur with CGI the Raiders are very bad and Dennis Allen will be the first Head Coach fired IMO. When they hired GM Reggie McKenzie and I had an opportunity to listen to him I came away unimpressed.

They have no QB they have a RB who is always hurt and their OC is Greg Olson who has been fired by the Rams & Bucs and their DC is an unknown in Jason Tarver. If they end up going with Terrelle Pryor at QB it will be a disaster. The kid cannot throw and IMO they just don't have good people in place the organization has been in decline for quite sometime and they will be luck to win 4 games IMO.

Not that there is anything wrong with that!

I'm sure glad Khan is the owner of Jacksonville and not the Rams!

The Raiders and Jags immediately come to mind. The Browns also don't seemingly have a chance.

If the Raiders didn't play in the weakest division in football they might only win 1-2 games. Heck, they may still win only 1-2 games. That is a bad roster

I think the Jets might actually be good. Their QB position is a mess and their o-line is questionable, but everywhere else they're fairly solid. I think Rex will boast a top 10 defense which will give the offense some opportunities. They're also getting all their WRs back from injury. They'll rely heavily on Chris Ivory, whom I think can be a pretty good workhorse RB.

Otherwise I would agree with your bottom five. I'd throw the Browns in there. I think the Dolphins could sneak in there too

Re: Absolutely no chance to make the playoffs; Oakland Raide

I dare everyone to say the Raiders have no shot at the playoffs to Jared Veldheer. LOL.

Anyway..Lamarr Houston is a stud and Charles Woodson coming back might just help that team.

Plus if Matt Flynn plays well...he and Denarius Moore (who caught 7 TDs) could be a good duo.

But w/ Denver dominating that division, and the Chiefs/Chargers ahead it'll be tough. But the Raiders do have talent.

But yeah, I think the Jets and Jags have zero shot. Although I'm in the minority I think the Jags could be a decent team if Justin Blackmon wasn't suspsended and were in another division (that and I like their new unis).

I'm not so sure about the Bills.

Many question marks still loom in WNY...However, I do feel they are now trending upward with Head Coach Doug Marrone & GM Doug Whaley! Sure trumps the combo of Chan Gailey & Buddy Nix. QB still an issue because Kevin Kolb is a modern day Norm Sneed and if they have to go with E.J. Manuel there will be plenty of growing pains.
