I think he'll do better than most of us hope/expect. A defensive oriented, run first team with a very experienced QB? I think despite his diminishing skills, this is probably the best place for Rodgers. The question, as always, will be can he fit in and follow the plan?
Agree.

He has some good receiving talent around him, led by Metcalf.

Freiemuth is a quality TE, and Washington is an athletic beast. I was a big fan of Roman Wilson in the 2024 Draft. There are two decent WRs in Calvin Austin and Scotty Miller. And, the Steelers' secret weapons ...
Rams' WR-East ... Robert Woods, Ben Skowronek and Lance McCutcheon!

Their O-Line will be key, with four starters in their second or third seasons, including two highly-regarded tackles selected in the first round. Their running game has depth, with three experienced backs, and a quality rookie in Kaleb Johnson.

How they use Metcalf will be crucial I think. He isn't an ideal match with the all of the WCO staples, has limits. But Rodgers is good enough to maximize him. As long as his tantrums don't piss Rodgers off. :laugh3:

The Steelers don't scare me, even with ARod
'Scary' ... No ... they are not going to the Super Bowl.

Just think they will be better. Will compete for a playoff-spot, which they do most every season but, this year they might actually win a playoff game, which they haven't done since Sean McVay was the OC in WSH.

It's worth a shot for Tomlin and the Steelers. They always have the defense. They needed a QB, even Rodgers at his age and personality, would dramatically improve their immediate future.

my initial response...

who cares...

it's a big east coast story, and it's already got me burned out on it...

dallas and now pitt... 80% of talk radio from now until hopefully this and dallas' failure is complete...

but pittsburgh is a spot where the dice may fall in his favor...

don't be fooled.. it's still a big gamble..

go rams

I only hope Pittsburgh can play well against Seattle and the NFC north! I'm a Rodgers fan (holding back a vomit) those weeks.

You mean he has another route beyond “go long”?
:laugh1:

Precisely. They're gonna need to feed him slants, crossers, posts and nines. Rodgers has the arm still to unlock him, but he's an old school QB so the first time Metcalf tries to have a man-tantrum that he didn't get the ball it's gonna be funny.

Rodgers has looked a shadow of the player he once was for some time now. There's a lot of "living off his name" going on these days.
He was on a shitty team. He is not now. chances of him improving from last year are good. I think steelers will giving the Ravens a run for their money.
