With the Contract Extension of Stafford and the trading of Woods (Which I don’t like UNLESS it helps the Rams extend Aaron Donald!!) can we hope to see Donald and the Rams coming to terms SOON with a Contract Extension??

It will be a GREAT to see the Rams get both their most valuable/important Offensive and Defensive Players signed to long term contracts!!

I am pretty sure a Donald extension will LOWER his 2022 salary-cap-hit.

This (an extension for AD) is the only thing that can make me feel better about losing Woods.

And yes, a Super Bowl helps all, but ... AD better be coming back.

I don’t see the following reflected in Spotracs NFL Cap Tracker yet:

Rams restructured OLB Leonard Floyd's contract, creating $12 million in cap space.

Anyone know?

Looks like the rams have some cash and they probably think they need a CB and edge. Wish I knew which position they see as top priority. Wagner made about 13 mil last year and gilmore was around 6. Not sure about whats left at edge except for ingram at about 8 mil for a year or hughes for less than that. If landry is still available he's probably looking for a 3 or 4 year deal around 15 per year.

Saw this about hughes, "Hughes has become something of a pass-rush specialist to close out his career, with his 87.4 pass-rush grade since 2019 slotting in as the 10th-best mark among edge rushers," that's up there near von at a fraction of the cost. Now, he does suck at run d but we put one of young dudes there on running downs and wagner is on the case anyway. maybe 26 mil for all 3.

I expect this to be more of a restructure than an extension. I honestly don't expect AD to play more than 2 more years. That is why I'm hoping that they can trade for Hunter.

Post AD it would then be Hunter, Robinson, Gaines & Floyd which is still a very good DL. Good run stopping in the middle and good pass pressure off the edges.

Key is good at pass rush not so great at run defense as well. Looks like he would be a relatively reasonable contract.

Man don’t do that to me! I check here every few hours for updates. I was so disappointed by Von’s decision, then Woods trade happens. I keep thinking bad news comes in threes and I’m almost afraid to look.

I open the site and the first line says Aaron Donald and my heart sank for a split second. Then I read the rest. Phew!

AD is my kids idol. I don’t want him to retire for Lincoln’s sake more than my own. He’s taken the Von Miller news hard enough. It’s his first year of really being 100% in on every game. I want him to be able to ride this wave as long as possible.

I was looking at his career earnings but yeah, his market value linked here shows he's worth a 2 year 28 mil contract, so that changes things.

Gilmore also has got his ring, so he's not a great candidate for a bargain, imo.

Players and coaches want to be in LA.

There is an intrinsic value of being a part of this organization.

Many will take less to gain on the venue.

Showtime is alive and well in LA.

After AD, the deluge. Just my opinion.
