I’ve been listening to a Batman podcast on Spotify that features Edward Nygma, which got me thinking of riddles. So, combining that with a bit of Rams trivia, here is a Rams riddle:

Preston, Everett and Henley are our names. There was a time when each of us was the best, but since 1946, when the Rams first moved to L.A., we are, in fact, the worst. Explain.

Hmmm this will be tough.

Just to get the ball rolling:

Preston Dennard, Rams WR from 1978-1983, played in Rams Super Bowl in 1980.

Jim Everett.

Gerald Everett.

June Henley, Rams RB from Kansa played one season for Rams in 1998.

More likely a reference to Darryl Henley, troubled Rams DB from 1989 to 1994. Was a second round pick.

Jim Everett was a first round pick, but all the others were not.

Somebody else chime in with more potential clues....

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times" is a quote from A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens.

Maybe the answer references the two cities as in LA and St Louis? Idk, I'm stumped.

"The best": Everett is the Rams all time passing yards leader.

But as for receiving yards, Dennard isn't close, nor is Henley close ti the best in INTS.

I'm stumped, or could use a hint.

Holy backfield in motion Batman! To the Batcave, Boy Wonder!

Hmmm. June Henley "led" the Rams in rushing in... 98 which would make him our "best" RB that year. But I think he had like 400 yds on the seasin or something terrible, which could have been " worst" in team history with regards to leading rushers?

I got nuthin. Good one @AvengerRam

Someone is on the right track!

  1. Jim Everett led the Ram in passing Yards in 1986, but that was the lowest in Ram history.
  2. June Henley led the Rams in Rushing in 1998, but with only 400 yards, again lowest in team history.
  3. 1982 Preston Dennard led the Rams receivers with receptions & yardage lowest in team history.

The Way We Were....Thank God for what we have now.

Back when that came out... my friend's mom liked (lusted may be a better word) Jones so much she had his picture actually stuck up on their refrigerator door.

So... when that SI cover came out, I thought that all old cougars were in love with Jones. It weirded me out thinking about it.
