I miss thunderstorms. We rarely have them where I live.

When it thunders, people have to ask "was that thunder"?
 
Incredible.
My family spent a summer in Montana back in the '80's. I remember the thunderstorms well. It felt as if you are in the storm, instead of being below it.
 
favorite pastime of mine when i lived by Lake Erie was to watch lightning across the lake in Canada. once in high school, a lightning strike hit a big old black walnut tree in our front yard as i was just about to go down the front steps of our porch. I felt a surge of heat, got pushed back about 5 feet to the outside wall of the house and then proceeding to lose my hearing for awhile from the thunderclap afterwards. Nature has on occasion, to remind you how tiny you really are in the whole scheme of things.
